Ehealth has been a passion of mine since I discovered the concept in 2000. As an R.N for many years, I can see how this exciting new way of utilising emerging technologies, would be of great benefit to enhancing the delivery of nursing care  and support self-management of health. Ehealth has been a passion of mine since I discovered the concept in 2000. As an R.N for many years, I can see how this exciting new way of utilising emerging technologies, would be of great benefit to enhancing the delivery of nursing care  and support self-management of health. Health Informatics New Zealand (HINZ) is a national, not-for-profit organisation whose focus is to facilitate improvements in business processes and patient care in the health sector through the application of appropriate information technologies. As well as being a member of the executive, I am also chair of the Consumer Health Informatics working group.

Three days a week  I work at the Waikato District Health Board, where my role has just been changed to include introducing ehealth as a concept to the nurses working there.

I intend to write monthly so if there are any nurses reading this who  have  an  interest in informatics  and  who would like to participate in this blog  I would be delighted to hear from you
